Shopping for God

Shopping for God, a poetry operetta, was written and performed by Eleanor Flowers and first staged at Hos Arne Gallery in Oslo in February 2024. The work was an exploration of hyper-consumerism, Jungian theories of metanoia and self-realisation, and feminist theology.

Accompanied by cellist Wei Ting Tseng, the poems and songs in the play sketch out a coming-of-age narrative from girlhood into womanhood. Eleanor Flowers’ multimedia artworks were exhibited alongside the show.
